Kimmeridge bay

Location: Kimmeridge bay on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site. You can see Clavell Folly or Clavell Tower on the cliff top.

This image was captured using a tripod-mounted Canon 5DmkII camera with a Canon TS-E 17mm f/4 L lens . I used LiveView and 10x magnification to manually focus on the rock just ahead, and a lens shift was used to keep the tower upright. The camera was set to manual exposure mode, f/22, ISO 100, and daylight white balance. I then captured a series of 13 exposures from 1 second all the way to a 1/4000th of a second in one-stop increments. The RAW processing, creating and saving the HDRI was all done in Photoshop CS/4. The HDRI was then opened and tone mapped in Photomatix Pro before the final clean-up and image correction/enhancement work was done back in Photoshop.
