Pic of the Week - Page 194

Misty sunrise

Location : Cockle Pond, Walpole Park, Gosport, Hants. We had a lovely misty morning last week and I enjoyed a nice long walk with the camera. Cockle pond originally a mill pond coupled to Gods Port (later to be called Gosport) Creek in the reign of Charles II and is shown on maps from 1678. It was changed into a cockle pond in 1751. Later the pond was renovated specifically for model yachting and to accommodate a model yacht club. Walpole Park was created in 1869 on the area known as The Horsefield, which was used previously by the army for exercising horses from St Georges Barracks.

This image was shot using handheld using a Panasonic GF3 and a Lumix 14-42mm f/5.6 zoom lens set to 14mm (equivalent to 28mm). I used AF on the swan. The camera was set to aperture priority mode, f/5, ISO 160 and the shutter speed was 1/500th of a second. The RAW processing and the final adjustments were all done in Photoshop CC.
